A great article by Pat Werner and Darrell Bushnell on health insurance programs for expats. This certainly is a must read for people moving to Central America and Nicaragua.
The medical programs from the US are very expensive and some cover the Nicaragua market. We also have talked to Pacific Prime mentioned at the end of the article. If you have a precondition, you can not cover that precondition, which is the same for the insurance programs we have looked at in Nicaragua.
We are still looking for a good viable insurance program. We have found the medical and medicine costs here in Nicaragua to be significantly lower than US, and so far we have been very satisfied with the local medical care.
